I have to admit that I have a particular affection for this anthem. There’s something about the ancient sound of the solo chant that helps to express the mystery of God made man. The words are simple, but build with the music towards the arrival of Christ on earth.
Mary praying,
Spirit coming,
Angel greeting,
Mary fearing.

Angel speaking,
Christ announcing,
Mary seeing,
Trusting, singing.
